Black - Red - Blank
A deck is completely shown to the audience. The only problem is that it contains only black cards. Suddenly, all the cards change to red, and then the deck turns blank! Finally, the cards return to normal... I use this all the time to open up a series of card effects.
Oil &Water
An extremely clean version of this classic plot. Four red cards and four black cards are interlaced into red-black-red-black order. The eight cards are spread face-up to prove they are genuinely mixed. When turned face-down, however, the heavier black cards settle to the bottom, leaving the four red cards on top. Only eight cards are used, and they are shown mixed up until the very last second...
Full Deck Oil &Water
The magician spreads all of the black cards face-up on the table, and spreads the red cards face-up below them. A small group of red cards is placed into the magician's left hand, followed by some blacks. The magician continues in this fashion, alternating red-black-red-black, until no more cards remain on the table. Then, without a single move, the deck is spread face-up on the table. Miraculously, all of the black cards are seen to have settled to the bottom, while the red cards remain on top! I always use this as a climax to the 'Oil &Water' routine above.
Another Rumor
The four aces are shown and placed face-up on the table. A card is selected and returned to the deck. We'll assume it's the king of clubs. The magician asks the spectator to name the suit of their card. The aces are fanned and the ace of clubs has turned face-down. The deck is given a shake and one card pops out of the middle...the ace of clubs! The face-down card on the table is turned over. It's the spectator's king of clubs! This king is waved over the other three aces, and they change to kings as well! I do this trick for laymen all the time. The ending takes them completely by surprise.
Coins From Purse?
A half dollar is dumped out of a small coin purse. Three more half dollars are produced from under the purse as it is rolled around on the table! This is a magical way of producing coins to use in another coin effect.
Okito Revers-Embly
Four half dollars are set in a square formation. One of them is placed inside a coin box, and then all four are covered with playing cards. One at a time, the other three coins vanish and reappear inside the coin box. The box is shown full and set in the middle of the square. Instantly, all four coins vanish from the box and hop back to underneath the cards! Just four coins are used, along with some pretty standard moves.
Y.A.C. ( Yet Another Collectors )
The four queens are displayed and placed aside. Three cards are selected and returned to the deck. One of the queens is pushed in and out of the deck in different spots to secretly "obtain info" about the selections. This single queen is then placed back onto the tabled packet which is immediately spread. Three face-down cards are seen interlaced between the queens. Of course, these are the selections. I have quite a few different 'Collectors' routines, but I would have to say this is one of my favorites. It's very clean, and the ending is unexpected to laymen.
The Vanishing Ring
A wedding band is displayed on the performers finger, and shown completely on all sides. When the magician strikes the ring with a pen, it vanishes completely! Another version is included where you throw a small ball of fire (flash paper) at the ring and it vanishes. I always have this one on me. It's very easy to do, but looks impossible.
The Shuffling Lesson
The magician shuffles the deck and gives the spectator half. They each shuffle their halves and cut them several times. Next, the magician and spector each divide their cards into four piles. The magician turns over his four top cards to reveal the four kings. The spectator turns over their four top cards to reveal the aces! This one stuns people because you don't touch their cards from beginning to end.
Flash Coins
Three half dollars are visually produced from three small balls of fire. Two of the coins travel to a purse in a comical fashion. The third vanishes in a ball of fire and joins the two in the purse! This is one of the most popular things in my lecture.

Ace to Queens
The ace of spades is produced four times and, in a blink, they change to the four queens.
1 Hand - 4 Coins
Four coins laid in a small square magically gather in one corner as the magician passes his hand over them
Oh No You Didn't
Four "wild cards" change into a previously chosen card and then instantly change to aces. Finally, the four aces transform into a single card, the selection.
Magic Snack
The magician rips the corner off a playing card and eats it. He then eats the rest of the card a bite at a time.
Magic Snack *Bonus*
After eating a single playing card, the magician devours the entire deck.
Flash Candle
A match is lit and changes to a candle in a flash of fire
Travelling Kings
The four kings are removed from the deck, signed by four spectators and the deck is set aside. One at a time, each king vanishes from the magician's hands and travels to a different pocket.
22
The spectators are startled when the magician changes the wrong card into the right one using "new math".
Crochet
A very visual production of a silk.
Magician vs. Gambler
Four kings are placed into different parts of the deck and the deck is shuffled. One at a time, the kings are produced and then changed into aces at the end.
