Don Alan's Hot Canary (Ranch Bird)
One of the most popular Don Alan tricks - Originally developed for his Magic Ranch TV Show.
Also known as The Ranch Bird
Effect: Spectator freely selects a card from the deck, returns it, and deck is cut. Magician counts off 5 cards into the spectators hand, and spectator can see that one of them is the selected card. He is to hold the cards gripped between his two hands until further instructions.
Performer makes a circle of 12 cards on the table and puts the Hot Canary in the middle. Hot Canary goes into action, hopping all over, pecking, and finally stopping on one card. Spectator is told to look at the cards in his hands. His card is gone! The card the Canary is standing on is turned over, and it is the spectators!
Perfect for table work, bars, parties, TV close up, hospitality suites, etc. Excellent Alan instructions, with variations, handling and patter. You need not be an expert card man to do it - one routine included for amateurs, one for the more advanced.
Everything you need to do it at once: wind up bird, cards and instructions.
